Now to start off when I say closing the sale I do not mean that you have to get a Yes. What I am saying is that you have the person make a decision there on the spot. Just remember you are a professional decision collector and that is all. You are looking for a yes or a no.Maybe’s are painful. You must let them know that either way is okay with you.Your posture says

“I don’t care what you think because I am doing this with or without you but if you were smart you would come with me”.

The close begins at the start of your interaction with the person you are sharing with. You must be negating objections before they ever come up with stories.
Season your conversation with stories of people who already work 1000 hours a week but have had success in their business. How about a husband or wife who decided to start without consulting the other one and because of trust in their relationship, it was a decision that totally changed both of their lives.These are just a couple of examples you can use but there are hundreds.

Do you see this one example of how you can start “Closing The Sale” from the very beginning.


So you get to the end of the meeting and you don’t want a maybe but you need a “Yes or “no!!
They say “I like it but I want to Think About It”.

You will get this response because you have just shown them the answer to their problem and instead of saying no because they feel weird they say I want to think about it.My response is

Cool, Let me ask you this, Is that your polite way of saying no?

If they insist that they do like it ,I will try to help them make a good decision instead of waiting, because I know that waiting is not a good decision, if they are being honest.

At this point,try to nail down what question they have that if you answer they will get started right now! If you get that and get the answer then you ask again,

    closing really is an art, but there are somethings that just make sense when you are talking to a prospect. Tom Hopkins has some great books on closing that are well worth the read…. taking a posture and not being tied to the outcome will definitely with the great tips that David has provided here…. Great post David… thanks for the value.

    I think it is great that you say closing the sale isn’t about getting a yes. If you don’t close the sale you won’t know if it is a yes, no or maybe as you will never get to the point where they actually answer you.

    I also think that closing the sale is also a very good way to look at it, as you are starting with an intention.

    Yes. Totally agree. When I started using this in my presentations, my enrollment actually increases and the pressure went off because I don’t sound like I’m pitching them anything. I’m just giving them an opportunity to see it before many others.
